“Apostle Dutch Sheets is my favorite preacher. He has felt called to intercede for America for decades! His mantra is, “America Shall be Saved.” He has traversed our nation repeatedly to pray over cities and states. Recently, he posted a message that has changed my life dramatically! If you haven’t heard it yet, google: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aX3ZVxg6q6E  or Dutch Sheets Isaiah 40 is Unfolding Across America.   In his message, Dutch shares dreams that he and other prophetic leaders have had about the greatest revival in the history of the earth. They saw the Interstate-40 corridor through the center of America revealing the soon-coming national revival as one that will sweeps the nation.

I-40 begins at Barstow, California, northeast of Los Angeles and ends in Wilmington, North Carolina. I have preached revivals in both cities and many others along the I-40 states. But here is what I was especially thrilled to hear. Dutch says the revival will BEGIN in Los Angeles first, then spread to the nation. As I have watched LA become a center of wickedness disaffecting the nation and the whole world, I have prayed and expected the Lord to get my family out of here. But now, I have great hope that we are strategically located exactly where God wants us to help fan the flames of this revival!

Los Angeles is Spanish for “The City of Angels.” When I wrote my book, REVELATION: END TIMES GUIDANCE, I showed often how busy angels will be involved in the last days events. God chose Los Angeles to birth many of America’s greatest evangelists and spiritual movements (I was “birthed” in Upland, 37 miles to LA).

Decades ago, I heard Kenneth Copeland speaking at the Anaheim, CA Convention Center. He said, “The next great move of God would probably begin in LA, since that was where most of them began.” Let’s explore the truth of that statement!

On Azusa Street, a 7-minute walk to LA City Hall, began an outpouring of the Holy Spirit that brought visitors from all over the country and even foreign nations to experience the signs and wonders occurring there.

Aimee Semple McPherson in 1925 built Angeles Temple, the first megachurch in America (seating 5,400), People came there just to receive a miracle!

She founded the Foursquare Gospel Church, of which I have been an ordained minister for over half-a-century. Aimee also built LIFE Bible College next door to “The Temple”. I would attend there 1966-1970. Later, my daughter Carissa and son Nathan would graduate from the same college (relocated to San Dimas, a suburb of LA). Carissa is a leader and professor at that Foursquare University, and my son Nathan is a member of a Foursquare Church in Osaka, Japan where he is a missionary/evangelist (Read his latest report from Japan later in this newsletter!).

The Jesus Movement began about 1967 in Orange County (adjacent to LA County; LA should not be thought of as a distinct/self-enclosed city, as it became a megalopolis covering nearly 5,000 square miles, with a population of nearly 13 million! +-900 Calvary Chapels in the USA resulted from a tent set up on the beach by a (then) Foursquare Pastor, Chuck Smith. As many as 250,000 (many from the hippie and counter-culture movements) came to Christ in a few years.

The Charismatic movement began in 1960 at an Episcopalian Church in Van Nuys (a city in LA County) and spread throughout many historic churches such as Episcopal, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Catholic, and Methodist. Can you imagine Catholic Priests and Nuns speaking in tongues and prophesying? It can happen again, and watch it start in LA!

The Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI) is a global, non-denominational Christian network of laymen and business professionals. It was founded in 1952 in Los Angeles, California, by dairy farmer Demos Shakarian. The organization united Christian leaders to share personal testimonies, foster fellowship, and integrate faith with the marketplace. Women’s Aglow was an outgrown of that movement giving women opportunities for Christian fellowship. I worked at the FGBMFI office while in Bible College and even spoke at a Women’s Aglow meeting! (I also met Evangelist Oral Roberts there.) They even published my personal testimony in one of their magazines they circulated! Again, LA!!!

LA is the most influential city in America, spiritually. Sadly, however, it is also the most influential city morally because of Hollywood’s impact through TV, music, pornography, and the internet/cyberspace. Satan is no dummy. He could see the angelic activity through the years, and so declared war on LA through his demonic activity. That demonic activity caused me to want to escape this place! But isn’t it more like God to use someone called to a deliverance ministry to join with the invisible angels in chasing out the demons? I want to do that now! The “City of Angels” is also going to become a “City of Evangelists.” I am one of those!

Consider how involved angels were at Christ’s first coming. An angel appeared to Mary, announcing the birth of the Savior. One appeared to Joseph, assuring him of Mary’s virginity, and later warning him to flee Herod’s attempt to kill Christ. Then, after Herod’s death, an angel informed him to return home. Angels sang to Shepherds, from heaven, the good news of a birth that would bring peace to the earth. Angels will also be very active in these last days. They sang at the creation of the earth (Job 38:7) and they will sing again as the new earth is being prepared!

Music is an incredibly powerful force for evil. The devil knows that, thus so many Hollywood music producers and singers. The average teenager today listens to music at least 2 hours a day! The foul language, the sexual lyrics, and the sexualized and near nude dancing they watch should not cause the church to say: “Let’s avoid music because Satan has taken it over!” It is just the opposite! We need to learn to use this tool! God created music, not the devil! Music can glorify the Lord and it can bring beauty to a fallen world.

When I jog past the Thatcher Music Building at Pomona College near my home, I pray that the Lord will raise up in that place Worship Leaders, Christian band leaders, anointed musicians and singers. And that such young musicians will help me or my family to reach the younger generation for Christ. Youth are already meeting to hear Christian bands and young evangelists in places around California. I envision music and the anointing to heal to be the drawing card for Warford Ministries to win children and youth, sooner than later! Want to join us?

What will invisible angels be doing in this I-40 revival? The book of Acts gives us hints…

In Acts 1:10,11, Jesus ascended to heaven. Two men in white apparel (angels) stood beside the disciples, promising that He will return in the same way (Jesus is returning soon: Expect similar visitations of angels).

In Acts 5:19–20, an angel of the Lord opened the public jail doors at night, freed the apostles, and told them to preach in the Temple courts (Expect the Lord to deliver people from bondage, literal and metaphorical prisons, and call them to preach the I-40!

In Acts 8:26, an angel of the Lord directed the Evangelist Philip to travel south (I-40 crosses several states in the south!) on the desert road to Gaza, where he met and baptized an Ethiopian official. I pray quite often for the Lord to give me and my family an angel to help direct us where to minister, as He did Philip!

In Acts 10:3–7, an angel appeared in a vision to the Roman Centurion Cornelius in Caesarea, instructing him to send for the Apostle Peter. Expect people to knock on your door for spiritual help because an angel sent them your way!

In Acts 12:7–10, Peter was in a heavily guarded prison, but an angel made his chains fall off and led him past the iron gate into the city. There Peter testified of God’s rescue. Your “prison” keeping your ministry bound-by money, closed doors, spiritual chains-will open with an angel’s help. And what a testimony you’ll have!).

In Acts 12:23, an angel of the Lord struck King Herod Agrippa because he accepted worship as a god instead of giving glory to God. (Will angels help strike our nuclear enemy in Iran, so we can keep preaching the gospel instead of worrying about surviving?)

In Acts 27:23, an angel of God stood by Paul during a violent sea storm, reassuring him that he and everyone on board would survive. Even if last day Revelation events begin happening in America, an angel can help you and your shipmates (church, family?) to survive.

I am very encouraged by Revelation 14:6: “Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth.” Exactly what this will look like is speculation. Yet, after the above examples in Acts, I have great hope that an angel will help us in supernatural ways to get the gospel out while there is still time! I hardly think the angel will do the preaching while we just say, “Amen!” We will still have to preach, as always!

During the “Healing Revival” of 1946-1958, many evangelists had visitations from angels. Some had angels appear to them on platforms to help them as they laid hands on the sick.  This shouldn’t be hard for us to believe, since an angel “troubled the water” at the Pool of Bethesda where people could get healed. Expect an angel to trouble the water (a metaphor for a manifestation of the Spirit’s power) for you as you lay hands on the sick during such a great move of God that there won’t be enough preachers to do it all!

Hebrews 1:14 says, “Are they (angels) not ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation.” Many interpret this as encouraging us to literally command angels to do certain things for us or others. I don’t see anybody in the New Testament doing this. I am not saying it is false or wrong to do so. But, I prefer to pray and ask the Lord to do something, believing that He will likely send an angel to do the work for Him (as He did so often in the Bible). Angels get a share in God’s work on earth but will especially be busy during the last days (Read Revelation again!).

Nathan’s Report from Japan…

Discipled and empowered leaders… Japan needs more of these! This past month my aim and focus has been on working towards young and empowered individuals.  I’m now closer than ever to that goal! While in Hokkaido I assisted with a trainer for young church planters both with YWAM and local Japanese.  Through this time I met several hungry individuals who want to see their city and friends reached for Christ.

But also God allowed me to meet several incredible individuals who also blessed me.  The first of these was a man named JP who has been in Japan for a many years.  He was part of a young youth revival (not unlike the Jesus movement) in Germany in the 90s/2000s.  Many souls were won and young leaders raised up within urban areas and churches were started.  He began doing the same in Japan and regularly meets to disciple young leaders and start groups.  He has agreed to begin mentoring me from the Japan side of things.

Meanwhile, a man named Rej, who is an experienced missionary and church planter within Southeast Asia, has begun to help initiate this new movement of church planting in Japan and will be mentoring me as well.  Additionally, God brought a YWAM missionary couple who will be moving next year to Osaka.  After prayer, I’ve agreed to begin working alongside them as a team to together study language, do evangelism in community and at universities, and ultimately to start a home bible study and church leading to multiplication and leaders being raised up.

The vision is much too big for me so as I network and seek for persons of peace and ministry partners this month and next, please be praying with me for favor and divine appointments! Just recently we prayer walked one of the largest universities in Japan with 10s of thousands of students.  We also attended a university student gathering and made many new connections.  This Friday, we’ll evangelize at this university as well as exploring other locations.  It truly is an answer to prayer as God opens the door further for me to pursue these visions I’ve had on my heart for the past 10+ years.

In addition to pursuing these endeavors, I have been consistently serving the local church and discipling young people.  Recently we held another English café event and invited people in the neighborhood.  Although not many came, we were able to encourage and bless this precious Pastor and his family.  They faithfully serve an older, small church in an unreached neighborhood but consistently seek to reach out to their community.

Like so many churches, they need more resources, more leaders, and more young people and are struggling, but within the beautiful church building hangs a scroll with the promise from Isaiah 43:19: “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert”.  This is a promise that we are holding out for across Japan, for great rivers of revival to flow in a desert land.

Finally, I have been meeting with several individuals continuing to disciple and pour into them.  And, I continue leading my men’s Bible study where I am guiding them through the “Wild at Heart” book to know ways we can become greater men of God.

Next month, Lord-willing, the door has been opened for me to return home to the states once again to connect with family and many of you. I will be sharing the vision for Japan in 4 different churches! I have renewed vision and direction for 2027 and great anticipation at what God will do.
