Heavenly Prescriptions

Word: Ask, and it shall be given you. Seek and you shall find (your key to your healing!)” (Matt. 7:7-11).

Wisdom: Many of us could testify how the Lord supernaturally led us to a doctor or medicine that was the answer to some physical problem. Let me tell you my testimony.

When I moved back to Tulsa, Oklahoma, from Victorville, California, in 2005, we arrived late at Albuquerque. It was about 10 PM, and I was so tired. However, I had just developed a tooth infection that was swelling up my whole left jaw and causing pain, so I called emergency dental offices. I dreaded taking hours to handle this problem, desperate for rest. But, I found one dentist who, over the phone, said he would phone in an antibiotic prescription for me if I could find a 24 hr. pharmacy.

My wife remembered that she had kept an antibiotic that a doctor had given me for an eye infection I had never used. She handed me the bottle, and I read to the pharmacist over the phone the name of the antibiotic. He said:

“That is the exact medicine I was going to prescribe for you!”

I started taking it immediately, went to bed, and mended in just a few days. There is no doubt in my mind that this was a sovereign display of God’s love and care for my health. And the key at that moment was that antibiotic. However, a month later, the infection came back again. It seems a “root problem” required a root canal, which was the final “natural key” to a dental problem.

There are both medical keys and natural keys that cure.

Often, though, there is a spiritual key to healing.

I don’t know how many times I’ve had people with pain (back, neck, etc.) who didn’t receive their healing until they forgave someone toward whom they had held deep-rooted bitterness.

 Forgiveness was their key!

Satan directly causes other physical problems. This is scriptural! A woman in the Bible, “had a spirit of infirmity” and couldn’t lift herself. Jesus healed her, explaining that she had been “bound by Satan” (Luke 13:11-16).

If a demon can be the root of a disease, some deep-rooted sin, unforgiveness, or even some food you’re allergic to, you can see the importance of finding an individual key to healing.

If you have had long-term physical problems and haven’t yet found medical or spiritual relief, what

should you do to discover your key?

Indeed continue reading Christian and holistic books, listening to teaching by those who’ve found

keys for their own lives. Sometimes keys do open more than one door for more than one person.

Have your pastor and the church elders lay hands on you and anoint you with oil (James 5:14-16).

Have your church intercessors continue to agree with you in prayer. During my heart bout in the

hospital in September 2017, I discovered how dependent I was on my intercessors! I have a list of them ready at hand for any future emergencies!

Let me know if you feel led to be one of my intercessors (who will not only pray a short blessing on me but feel a responsibility to spend quality time regularly on behalf of what God has called me to do!).

Attend meetings with Apostles, prophets, evangelists, and teachers with a gift of healing. They often help people discover their key.

Pray in the Spirit for the answer to your “mystery” of sickness that isn’t responding to medicine or normal prayer (1 Cor. 14:2).

Fasting is one of the historically best ways to locate “lost” keys. An evil spirit hindered Daniel in Dan. 10, but He didn’t discover that fact until three weeks of “no pleasant” bread fasting.

David Cho had a “Prayer Mountain” in Seoul, where sick people came to fast and pray for healing, with great results.

Read the logos Word, expecting God to give you your rhema Word to stand on. Your verse will “leap from the pages” and witness to your heart.

And, finally, pray, pray, pray, as today’s devotional verse says:

“Ask, and it shall be given you. Seek and you shall find (your key to your healing!)” (Matt. 7:7-11).

If you by chance have a so-called “terminal illness” (God forbid) . . . remember, the doctors do not have the final word! Jesus said,

“I have the keys of death” (Rev. 1:18).

Find out if the Lord is giving you the key to heaven. Paul had been saved from the mouth of lions and even stoned to death but was miraculously healed. Yet eventually he found his key to heaven knowing:

“The time of my departure is at hand.” II Tim. 4:6).

Is the “time of your departure at hand”? If so, rejoice that Jesus has given you the key to heaven!

Or does Jesus have another “hidden” key that will give you more time to work for Him?

“Let God be true and every man a liar” (Romans 3:4).

Isaiah told Hezekiah to get his house in order because he would die. But, Hezekiah prayed and discovered that a unique key (a poultice of figs and a rhema from a mighty prophet Isaiah) would help add 15 years to his life (Isa. 38:21).

Does God have an important job for you to do that will require the addition of 15 more years to your life? And, if so, what is your personal “poultice” for your healing?

Keys to healing are not always easy to find. “Whispering a prayer in the morning” won’t likely discover a death-defying key. It may take a concentrated prayer search and faith fight, but what glory your discovery will bring to Jesus! And be sure that it’s the heart of your Savior to give you that KEY to life:

“The Lord has looked down from heaven . . . to loose those that are appointed to death” (Ps. 102:19, 20).

Doctors don’t have the final word! They may have “appointed you to death,” but Jesus is truly

your Great Physician and Deliverer!

Finally, remember, it is God’s design in creation to hide knowledge or truth and then to challenge man to uncover it:

“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the honor of kings is to search out a matter” (Prov. 25:2).

Many think they need only passively “trust the Lord” and in His goodness, and “if it is His will,” He’ll eventually take care of their problem. No, this is not the way of God! Instead, God wants you “search” and “seek” Him for His unique solution to your problem.

Ultimately, even if your sickness is “unto death,” you still will, like Job, say:

“Though he slay me yet will I trust Him” (Job 13:15).

(You might want to further research some of these principles we’ve been studying by reading the

following: Heb. 11:6; Jer. 29:13; Prov. 28:5; Isa. 45:19; Ps. 105:4; 77:6;69:32; 34:10; 9:10; Dan. 20:28; Job. 11:6; Amos 3:7).

Your search for your KEY may be extended, at times rather difficult or even arduous, but know that you are a child of the King. As such, your key is not dependent only on the hands of some skilled physician at a hospital, nor is it a distant hope hidden in some test tube on a shelf in some research laboratory, nor is it some unknown herb growing in the Amazon (a key you’re dependent on some man to find). No, your KEY ultimately is safely handled by Jesus…

“. . . in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Col. 2:3).

Your KEY truly is not in the hand of a doctor, scientist, or preacher. It’s in Jesus’ Hand, although he

might use one of these human instruments! So look today to the one who died that you might be healed (1 Pet. 2:24):

“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith” (Heb. 12:2 KJV).

He’s more than ready to hand you your KEY!  We could call your “key” one of God’s…

Heavenly Prescriptions

May I exhort those in need of

healing to make daily early morning appointments with the Great Physician and wait patiently in his office (The Prayer Closet!) and diligently search the Scriptures until He writes you out your Prescription for healing!

One more helpful healing teaching tomorrow morning!

Prayer: “Father, give me the faith and determination to ask, seek, and knock until I discover the key to me or my family member’s healing.”

Confession: “God promised that if I sought, I WOULD FIND! I am seeking, so I WILL find the key, God’s Prescription for me, to my healing!”
